Welcome to ShirtForDad

You know what’s funny? When we first came up with the name “Shirt For Dad,” we didn’t think it would stick. It started as an inside joke — one of those ideas that pops up during a late-night laundry-folding session and somehow feels… right.

Here’s the thing: this isn’t just about shirts. And it’s definitely not just for dads. It’s about that one shirt you always reach for — the soft one, a little worn, fits just right. The one that holds memories. The one you stole from your dad’s closet or the one your kid gave you on Father’s Day. Or maybe it’s just the shirt you wear when you want to feel like yourself again after a long, weird day.

We’re Shirt For Dad — a small local brand built on big feelings and even bigger love for the clothes we live in. We design and make T-shirts, hoodies, and sweaters that aren’t here to scream for attention. They’re here to be there — for errands, airport hugs, midnight snacks, lazy Sundays, breakups, road trips, and all the real-life stuff in between.

And no, you don’t have to be a dad to get it. You just have to be someone who values comfort, quality, and a story behind what you wear.

We’re local. We’re independent. And we’re here to make your new favorite shirt — the kind you don’t loan out because you’ll never get it back.

What We Make — Shirts, Hoodies, and All Things Comfortable

Let’s talk about the gear.

We make T-shirts that feel like the good part of summer. You know that broken-in softness that usually takes years? Ours come with that feeling, day one. The kind of tee you fall asleep in, then wear to brunch the next day. No judgment. Zero scratchy seams. No logos shouting for attention.

Hoodies? Oh yeah — we live in them. And honestly, we judge hoodies by one thing: could we fall asleep in it on the couch without getting annoyed by the zipper? Ours pass the test. Big kangaroo pockets, sturdy hoods that don’t flop weirdly, drawstrings that don’t vanish into the fabric after one wash. (You know exactly what we’re talking about.)

And sweaters — the low-key heroes of in-between weather. Not too thick, not too thin. Just enough warmth to feel hugged, not enough to make you sweat on the subway.

We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We just make the kind of stuff people want to wear every damn day.

Why We Care So Damn Much About Quality

Look, anyone can slap a logo on a shirt and call it a brand. But not everyone will obsess over the fabric weight, or how a sleeve falls on your wrist, or whether the inside of a hoodie feels like fleece or just plain regret.

We do.

Because comfort isn’t just about feel — it’s about trust. When you wear our gear, we want you to feel like someone actually thought this through. Because we did. We’ve tested fabrics until they stopped pilling, washed samples a dozen times just to make sure the color doesn’t fade into that weird, sad gray. We argue (politely) over neckline widths and sleeve lengths.

We also believe in durability. Not the “technical” kind that gets thrown around in marketing copy, but the real-life kind. Like, will this T-shirt survive your chaotic laundry habits? Yes. Will that hoodie still be your go-to after two winters and three breakups? Also yes.

Clothing should last — physically, emotionally, and everything in between.

A Little More Personal: The Founder's Note

Honestly, I never set out to start a clothing brand.

It started with a T-shirt I inherited from my dad. Faded navy. Slightly oversized. Some old college logo on it, but I barely noticed. What I noticed was how it made me feel — grounded. Safe. A little nostalgic in a way I couldn’t explain. I wore that shirt until the threads gave up.

That feeling? That’s what I wanted to recreate.

So I sketched, sourced, failed, tried again, found better fabric, argued with a manufacturer, started over, launched a website with four products, and waited. Orders trickled in. Then they didn’t stop. People got it. They didn’t just want clothes. They wanted that feeling too.

That’s why this isn’t about fast fashion. It’s not about following trends or chasing influencers. It’s about making something real, and keeping it real.

Thanks for being here.
